feeling better, a little bit
breaks are really nice. and the impromptu blog break was no exception. unfortunately it was no reflection of things calming down in my everyday real world, which was more chaotic than ever. but, after a busy week and a half of friends, pie, real autumn weather, apple picking, lesson teaching, a funeral, applesauce and even some costume sewing, i'm exhausted but still a bit rejuvenated. now all i really need is some alone time to relax, focus and get rid of this headache.
i'll report on all the goings-on throughout the rest of the week, but for now i'll just say that i'm back and that i love the fall in new york. my saltwater sandal tan is fading, the air conditioner is unplugged, the jackets and coats are out and being used and it finally makes sense to crave hot chocolate and ginger snaps. i'm happy.

ohhh ginger snaps. I never thought to crave that one, but I do love them, and I think I will START craving them right about now.... Do you have a good recipe for them? Your grandma had some really good ones at her house...
I have missed you! I am glad things are getting a little better for you.
Happy Fall to you!
glad to have you back on the blog! and I am glad to hear your feeling better, take it easy!
we love love love you guys. we'll be thinking about the cool people (you) the cool shops and the good food for weeks to come!
I saw the funniest sign on E's birthday last week as Eric, E & I were coming back from fishing all day.... fun!... a yellow highway warning sign - "ROCKS" - had been added to with the results "Rachelle ROCKS" - it was well done, but I'm sure the state didn't appreciate it as much as I did.
But the reason I bring it up, is that my response to your blog today is "Katie ROCKS" - you are amazing, wonderful and so much fun! LOVE ya and MISS ya!
my life was not complete without your updates and insights, seriously. Glad you are enjoying fall, it's been beautiful back here on bryan ave. can't wait to see the girls' costumes!
