chip is doing the alcatraz swim. not counting his record-breaking mile swim
at boy scout camp as a 14-year-old, this is his very first open water competition.

we're here in san francisco and getting pumped for saturday. the day he makes us all proud.

good luck chipper!
We are all routing for you here.
you look quite comfortable in that wet suit of yours. ever thought about sporting that around Prospect Heights?

i don't get it, is he SERIOUSLY going to swim that? crazy - please give a report!

my next door neighbor, who had previously completed the iron man (yes, the real one), did this swim and had to be plucked/rescued out of the bay before he finished. it took over two hours to get his core temperature back to normal. just sayin'

by the way, in case this isn't a practical joke, please disregard my remarks above and give our best to the chipster. he's cooler than my neighbor anyway.

i really think chip is the only other man on the planet more thin than my mike. i'll tell mike to work on it so they can compete.

go chip! I hope you win the race and get 1st place.
