"fifty cents a cap!"

caps for sale palette: round two

rainbow skirt + grey shell top (any chance the girls have to call something "rainbow," they're taking it.. also, ignore wrinkles).

red denim shorts + checkered cap top

ruth has declared she will "never ever never take pictures again for mommy. not until tomorrow ever. forever!" luckily, eve is still willing. even on a morning when she is rushing to get to school to get the bus to get to the museum of natural history to get to the butterfly exhibit to stretch her little finger out in the hope that a butterfly finds it a nice place to rest.

no such luck, the butterflies went to the teacher's head instead. but eve was glad to have a rainbow skirt "because butterflies really love rainbows. for real. and when they see my rainbow stripes it makes them happy and that's better than dead." so true.

I love to see how this color palette theme is manifesting itself! I think it's an inspired idea to base clothing on a book's color scheme, and your outfits are so cute! The adorable model doesn't hurt, either.

WOW. I am completely and utterly amazed. I should only hope that the clothes I make for my daughter turn out half as cute. Thank you so much for sharing - it's very inspiring!

we looove that story and i thought the dresses you has made earlier were spot on and that you couldn't get any better. and then you did.
pretty soon you'll have them dressed up like those naughty monkeys swinging from tree limbs.
you are seriously fabulous!

Dude, you are out-doing yourself again and again. I am LOVING the clothes for the girls! You are totally my inspiration. I WILL learn to sew this year, if it kills me. It would make it a lot easier if you guys would move up here so you could give me lessons. Come on... Westchester is calling.

I can't wait for the day you have to put the clothes on Charlie to model. Why don't kids like having their picture taken?

I found your blog through Oh Happy day - and I have spent hours here since. I am in love with the clothes you make for your little girls. I have two little girls who I also love to sew clothes for - but yours have a completely different (read: more stylish) look than mine, and I am inspired to try something new because of you. Also, I live in Salt Lake and happen to know your friend Alysha Bean. I saw her picture on your blog about 30 pages back (yes, I went back that far) and was like "hey! That's Alysha!" lol. So funny.

all priceless: beautiful girls, the sweet things they say, and the gorgeous clothes their mama stitches for them!

May 13, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterannri

Okay Seriously...as the others have mentioned, when are you coming out with a pattern book???? I am SO inspired!!

May 13, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAllegra

Love the detail on the back of that grey shell. Makes the whole shirt.
And yes - where IS your etsy shop?! Preferably stocked to the brim with big-girl sizes...!

I REALLY love these outfits kate. I would love them on Chloe, so yes I think you should make up some patterns or something... :)
Scott and I both were laughing at "never, ever, never forever!!"

the little details are all perfect. nice job!

I'll join the chorus - LOVE the clothes! So beautiful! Your little girls are so sweet too.
And I'll join the chorus that's asking for the behind-the-scenes peek. The clothes LOOK simple, but I'm a newish seamstress, so maybe it's not as easy as it looks. I'd love it if you'd take pictures of the whole process one of these days.
I"m seriously inspired by your color choices! I think too many home sewers use too many patterned fabrics. Your clothes look smart and modern and very sweet all at the same time.

Broken record here...such cute styles and colors. Love that book. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! (Or at least I think that's what those silly monkeys say.)
