"fifty cents a cap!"
caps for sale palette: round two
rainbow skirt + grey shell top (any chance the girls have to call something "rainbow," they're taking it.. also, ignore wrinkles).
red denim shorts + checkered cap top
ruth has declared she will "never ever never take pictures again for mommy. not until tomorrow ever. forever!" luckily, eve is still willing. even on a morning when she is rushing to get to school to get the bus to get to the museum of natural history to get to the butterfly exhibit to stretch her little finger out in the hope that a butterfly finds it a nice place to rest.
no such luck, the butterflies went to the teacher's head instead. but eve was glad to have a rainbow skirt "because butterflies really love rainbows. for real. and when they see my rainbow stripes it makes them happy and that's better than dead." so true.

I love this! That rainbow skirt has to be my favorite thing that you've made for you girls! So, so cute!!
how do you do this... AMAZING AMAZING!!!!!
SERIOUSLY... what's your plan with all of your talent????????????
That skirt looks awesome! I would totally wear one :-)

You are delightful. Even putting aside the wonderful, creative and beautiful clothes and the darling little girls, I love to read your posts for the sheer laugh-out-loud quality of them!
I agree with the above comments. You need an Etsy!! I hope you don't mind, but I posted on my blog about your darling dresses! I love the retro feel the clothes have. Such talent!
oooooo- I can't decide which outfit I like more! They are both adorable! Even though I don't have kiddos- seeing these cute skirts and dresses reminds me of being carefree and little, wearing the clothes my mom used to make for me :)
that skirt is wonderful (as is everything else)! twirl factor is important in our house and that would fit the bill!
i am curious - do you use patterns at all? if not, do you try things out on other fabrics first? your clothes are so fabulous - i have been doing some simple stuff on my own for the kids, but am nervous about trying to design anything too elaborate. any tips you have would be great!
thanks!
Ok, all I can hope for is to be as talented as you one day! Your clothing for your girls is incredible. I so wish you were sewing my wardrobe. Thank you for sharing, always inspirational!!
These shorts are so darling. Are you using a particular pattern? Beautiful girls you have.
Oh my....you are so super talented. If i had daughters (only boys in this house) I would for sure be making some of the stuff you are...it's brilliant.
I love your site. I just found it not too long ago and have enjoyed it so much. I love sewing and being creative too...so it has been a lot of fun to read your ideas.

brilliant color choices katie!!
Sigh...I wish I had that beautiful skirt!
I found you through Kathreen at Whipup and I'm so in love with your summer sewing plan. That is one of my favorite books (very talented, that lady, herself) and your patterns are so hip and fresh. Did you draft them yourself? I love everything I see. Especially because it's on beautiful little girls, which is about the perfect opposite of what I'm blessed with in two very dirty, very grubby little boys :)
The most sewing I'll be doing for them this summer is shorts upon shorts and likely a lot of mending in between!
ahhh, bless little kiddies and their hilarious statements. and yep, these pics are going straight to the "sewing inspiration" folder for layla's summer wardrobe - only much smaller versions! luckily, it's coming into winter here so i have some time!
Please, please, please make and sell patterns of these things!!!
Love your blog. Just found it last night and was hooked.
Do you sell your patterns you make??
So lovely! I´ve been thinking about writing a post about your girls.. can I?
Oh my! That first outfit is just too cute! I love the colors you picked for the skirt, and the gray top is sophisticated. I feel so inspired to sew something right now!
Your work is so so so stunning! I just stumbled upon your blog today, and am overtaken by your sewing talent and your gorgeous modern eye for your daughters' clothing! I'm pregnant with my first child and am working on my first quilt. However, my friend who lives an hour away has been teaching me and I'm a slow learner. How would you recommend I get started as a new sewer? I would love love love to someday be able to make what you make, but I'm sure you've been doing it a long time, and are just flat out talented. Do you come up with your own patterns as well?
so, what's the deal with not wanting to take pictures? i've been having the hardest time with my 7 year old. there are 2 pictures of her on my blog right now and you can literally see her sulking at me....sigh! LOVE the colorful skirt~ You inspired me to throw my daughter a Blueberries for Sal birthday party (since you were inspired my Caps for Sale)...
Susannah
I LOVE the rainbow skirt! Bravo!
random note, but butterflies are attracted to the color white. seriously. have her wear something with long white sleeves next time and they'll be all over her. i wore a white blouse with long puffy sleeves to a fair once and they would not leave me alone. :)
