happy halloween!

a full day already, and the fun has just begun. while the biggest bat plays at school, her bat sister colors spooky portraits (and sings a song to herself whose only lyrics are "poopy mommy". . . she really loves me), and the little bat baby rests up for the second round, which is set to begin in just over an hour.

hope your halloween is as full of as much sugar as ours! (yikes).

update: a local kids shop was offering "professional polaroids" today. strait after school i took my bats in. i could not be happier. aren't these great? now i feel like i need a professional photographer to follow us around every day, preferably with a wagon-full of polaroid film.

after our very long and very festive day, the littles are in bed and i'm thinking the only right thing to do is to throw in the watcher in the woods. if you are not lucky enough to own the dvd, borrow it from someone (i can't be the only one that owns it. . ). the alternative endings are insane and so awesome.

Love it! I think the enormous widows peak is my favorite part. Say hello to Halloween in Brooklyn from us!

Did you make that incredible costume? It's fantastic!!

When I was a kid, costume ideas were pretty limited. I would rummage through my mother's drawer to retrieve an old scarf, dangling earrings a bit of her makeup and turn myself into a gypsy. Perhaps the next year I'd become a clown or a hobo....

Wow, a bat!! It's a wonderful new world of options.

Amazing Katie!! so impressive.
I wish we would have been there to trick or treat on Garfield with you guys and then followed it up with Watcher in the Woods squished on your double in bed. Oh, the good old days.

Love the watcher in the woods. That movie still scares me. I got bobby to watch it with when we were just starting to date. I thought it would provide a fabulous opportunity for the holding of hands... But bobby just laughed at the movie. This year Bobby watched poltergeise. I'm just a wimp at the scary movies- even the super "high-tech" ones from the 80's... I ended up playing cards!

i heard from a couple of park slope girls that i had to check out your halloween costumes as they were to die for. they look great. and i, of course, asked who won the pie contest this year and heard it was you and your key lime pie. congratulations. the holidays make us miss brooklyn even more.
